1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using VitalCausality ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Medical Disclaimer

VitalCausality is NOT a medical device. It is NOT intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition.

The App is a personal health diary with AI-assisted pattern detection. AI-generated insights represent statistical correlations, not clinical diagnoses. They should never replace professional medical advice.

Always consult a qualified healthcare provider for medical decisions. In a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services immediately.

3. Description of Service

VitalCausality provides: - A personal diary for logging health-related events in natural language - Integration with Android Health Connect for biometric data tracking - AI-assisted processing of log entries into structured events - Pattern detection and causal insight generation - Report generation to assist in preparing for medical appointments - Cloud backup of your data (optional, Premium tier) - Recurring routine action templates for common health events

4. Subscription Tiers and Billing

4.1 Tiers

The App is available in three tiers: - Free: Core features with on-device AI. Includes banner and rewarded advertisements. - Basic: Extended features including custom reminders and advanced analysis settings. Includes banner advertisements. No rewarded advertisements. - Premium: Full access to all features including Cloud AI, medical reports, cloud backup, multi-profile, insight export, and an ad-free experience.

4.2 Billing

  • Subscriptions are processed through Google Play Billing and are auto-renewing
  • Prices are displayed in your local currency as determined by Google Play
  • Payment is charged to your Google Play account at confirmation of purchase
  • Subscription automatically renews unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period

4.3 Cancellation and Refunds

  • You may cancel your subscription at any time through Google Play Store > Subscriptions
  • Upon cancellation, you retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period
  • Refunds are handled by Google Play per their standard refund policy
  • After subscription expiry, your data remains intact — you revert to Free tier features

4.4 Price Changes

  • We may change subscription prices. You will be notified in advance per Google Play policies
  • Price changes apply to the next billing cycle after notification

5. Advertisements

  • Users on the Free and Basic tiers will see advertisements served by Google AdMob
  • Banner advertisements appear in the Home screen feed only — never during active health data input
  • Users on the Free tier may see rewarded advertisements before certain actions
  • If an advertisement fails to load, the action proceeds without the advertisement (no user blocking)
  • Premium subscribers see no advertisements
  • We do not serve personalized health-related advertisements

6. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for: - The accuracy and completeness of data you enter - Maintaining the security of your device and account - Complying with applicable laws and regulations - Using the App for lawful, personal health tracking purposes only - Understanding that AI-generated content may contain errors

7. Account and Authentication

  • You may sign in using Google Sign-In via Firebase Authentication
  • Sign-in is optional for Free and Basic tiers, required for Premium cloud features
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account
  • You must not share your account credentials with others

8. Intellectual Property

The App, its content, features, and functionality are owned by FortyTwo Apps and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal purposes.

9. AI-Generated Content

  • AI-generated insights, summaries, and reports are provided "as is"
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI outputs
  • AI models may produce unexpected, incorrect, or nonsensical results
  • You should always review and verify AI-generated content before relying on it

10. Data Deletion

  • You can delete your data at any time using the Danger Zone in Settings
  • Selective deletion is available for events, insights, common items, routine actions, Health Connect data, logs, and user profile
  • "Delete Everything" performs a full local data reset and optionally deletes cloud backups
  • Deleting your data does not cancel an active subscription — manage subscriptions through Google Play

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law: - The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind - We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose - We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App - We are not liable for any health decisions you make based on information from the App

12. Service Availability

  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation
  • We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the App at any time without notice
  • Cloud features depend on third-party services (Firebase, Google Cloud) and their availability
  • On-device features will continue to function offline

13. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: - Use the App for any unlawful purpose - Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App - Interfere with or disrupt the App's infrastructure - Use the App to store or transmit malicious content - Share AI-generated medical insights as if they were professional medical advice - Circumvent subscription restrictions or feature gates

14. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to cloud features at any time, for any reason. Your local data will remain accessible on your device regardless of account status.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the App. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. If you disagree with updated Terms, stop using the App.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which FortyTwo Apps operates, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
